Story I covered for State Press - Arizona State University’s daily newspaper.
A group of Purple Heart Marines attended the Arizona State vs. Utah Valley baseball game on Tuesday, March 13th. Corporal Nick Kimmel represented these Marines by throwing out the first pitch before the game. Cpl. Kimmel was highly recruited by ASU coming out of high school, but decided to enlist in the Marines to serve his country instead. During his deployment, he lost both of his legs and an arm.
